THQ has announced that there will be three Downloadable Content packs for Red Faction Guerrilla, the first being  ‘Demons of the Badlands’.  It takes place in a new section of the familiar world of Mars and is set outside the boundaries in the main game.  It is a single player story that will hit Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Network August 13th.  It will cost 9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points.  Future DLC contents has not yet been announced but will most likely include multiplayer.

A new service is being worked on by Blizzard that will let you switch sides. Whether you want to take sides with the Alliance or the Horde. You will be able to take a character that you have leveled up and switch to the other faction as a ‘roughly equivalent’ character on the same realm. No word yet on when the service will officially be available.

Trials is a fully featured, physics based motorcycle game, with insane stunts in HD. It will hit Xbox Marketplace as an Arcade title on July 22nd.

If you try to sign in to the Playstation Network today it might say ‘Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance.’ or another error message. It is unclear why Sony is preforming maintenance, but is is most likely routine.

UPDATE: PSN is back online with some possible errors trying to sign in.

Darksiders has a release date set for December 31st, 2009, hitting both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It is set in a Post-Apocalyptic demon ravaged world where evil forces have prematurely brought about the end of the time. Originally sent to oversee the destruction of Earth, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have been betrayed by their master, stripped of their powers and cast down to Earth. Players take on the role of WAR — the first of the Four Horsemen — as he embarks on a brutal quest of vengeance and revenge against the forces that betrayed him with the help of his phantom steed RUIN. Darksiders features open-world exploration, a deep combat system and a huge arsenal of modern and mythical weapons.

OnLive is a service that will let you play games on your computer or your TV, with a controller or a mouse and keyboard. The key to this service is you will not have to upgrade to a better console or upgrade your computer to play newer games. With technology games are becoming more and more demanding on hardware because of their better graphics and this will continue to happen. The OnLive service is able to stream the game you want to play through broadband on pretty much any PC or TV in the High Definition that your PC online would not be able to provide with out any lag. Lanai Gara also known as ‘Fidget’, has been playing games for a while now, her favorite game once the infamous ‘Duck Hunt’.  She once played Counter Strike for 21 hours straight but her current game of choice is Call od Duty: World at War.  When the beta for the game was released you could have seen her at #5 on the leaderboard but now that the game has been out for a while now you will see her sitting proudly at #1 for Free For All.  She is a Ubisoft ‘Frag Girl‘ and has co-founded Team V-Gaming, a 120 person team.  It has been a bad stereo type that girl gamers just don’t exist in the wild or they are just plain bad.. well check out Lanai Gara’s blog on the FragDolls site for more pics and info about her along with the rest of the frag dolls.   Just watch out for her whooping your ass in public Free For All.

Ok, first you might want to turn your volume off while watching this video unless of course you happen to speak Polish. You do see Batman kicking ass and using different tactics. We do know there is a demo coming very soon but this is footage from the actual game in it’s Beta stage.  You can notice their spoof on a ‘loading scene’ at 5:40 where we catch the Mass Effect Trio moving down an elevator.  For those of you who haven’t played Mass Effect.. it probably just looks weird.

Second here are the Batman Arkham Asylum Achievements for the game and for you PS3 whores out the trophy list is pretty much identical.  Enjoy and stay tuned.

The host of the live game show 1 vs 100, Chris Cashman accidentally slipped word that 1 vs 100 will be out of Beta next week and into full swing where the Microsoft Points and Arcade games you win, will actually be handed out. He quickly tried to cover up his tracks by stating there will be a big announcement next week and then changing the subject. …The beauty of live broadcasts… The beta has been running for a few weeks now and I myself would have won some Microsoft Points had it not been the Beta. Nothing has been confirmed for sure yet but I think we can assume that this is the ‘huge announcement’ next week.

The Lost Planet 2 Demo has been confirmed to be coming to the Xbox Live Mareketplace “soon”.  If  it  is anything like the demo seen at this years E3 Conference than it will have 4 player co-op.  The game itself will have added features such as character customization, weapon customization and AI bots but it is uknown if those elements will be in the demo.

An e-mail sent out by EA to promote the upcoming Xbox Live Arcarde & Playstation Network  game, Battelfield 1943, has revealed that the release date for the game is July 9th.  The game will have a dogfights only map, where it will only be planes against planes… However, this map is only unlockable once the online kill count for everyone playing the game  collectivley adds up to 43 millions kills.  The Xbox and PS3 version kill counts are not added though.  So what console will have the luxury of playing the dog fight only map first, Xbox 360 or Playstation 3?  I’m betting on Xbox 360.

Apparently Microsoft is paying tribute to the recent passing of the pop legend, Michael Jackson.  Currently you are able to download the standard defenition version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ Video.  Older gamer veterans can remember the Michael Jackson arcade game, even if you didn’t play it, it was hard not to here the ‘WOOHOO’ coming from the arcade section of the movie theatre.  The video is only available for US Xbox owners for free and if you have never seen the video I suggest watching it as it is an all time classic.  Michael Jackson, age 50, died on June 25th at 2:25pm (21:25 UTC).

I have been seeing a lot of this moving around the internet this week; certain people have been seen with a ‘B 09′ in their achievements/games list for Xbox 360.  It is now said to be a Beta for the upcoming Avatar Reward system that will be integrated into games soon.  Basically, you achieve a goal in a game (i.e. Halo 3) you unlock clothing for your Avatar related to that game.  This picture is actually the first I have seen with someone actually wearing some of the possibly unlocked clothes.  It is nice to know that the system is in it’s beta stage and will hopefully be available for everybody soon.  You can check out some more Avatar E3 Beta Unlockables from Joystiq’s gallery below, including a remote control Warthog for you avatar.  Now I just need to see a Lancer/Chainsaw and a Sniper Ghillie Suit, then I’ll be happy.

The folks over at Joystiq managed to get some pictures of Best Buy’s new Trade In Kiosk and even got to test it out. From the looks of it, it seems that they will be seen in more and more Best Buy chains over time. With the kiosk you will be able to trade in used games for store credit.
