Mortal Kombat 9 – M Rated

Series producer Ed Boon has confirmed, however, that Mortal Kombat 9 will be a return to the franchises bloody roots. Speaking on his twitter page, Boon writes “People want an M-rated MK….dammit we will give them an M-rated MK.” He also mentioned new fatalities that were being motion captured, saying “I hope we aren’t taking these too far. 
”
Recent casting calls for the game have indicated that the game may be a prequel, taking place in between Mortal Kombat II and 3, which has further fueled speculation that Mortal Kombat 9 may actually be a sequel to the 2006 title, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.
