I’m still not really sure if I love or hate the recent wave of every game having pre-order incentive that sometimes even forces you to purchase from specific retailers.  Regardless, pre-ordering Dead to Rights: Retribution from Gamestop will get you the following:

The Jack Pack features special Grant City Anti-Crime armor for Jack Slate, which provides an increased health boost. The armor is available in-game immediately after the content has been downloaded. In addition, a guns-blazing “action mode” switches up the gameplay with explosive rounds, increasing the damage and impact of all shots fired. This exclusive mode is available at the end of each chapter that has been unlocked.

The “Shadow Pack” allows canine companion Shadow to use camouflage which reduces detection when stalking enemies with his stealth move. This pack also offers the visually striking “noir mode” where all on-screen graphics are displayed in black, white and dramatic blood red, further immersing players in the deep noir themes of the game. Customers will receive a redeemable code electronically when their game copy is shipped.

Dead to Rights: Retribution will be available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3on April 13th in the US and April 16th in the UK.

Well a Battlefront 3 would have been great or even a Knights of the Old Republic 3, but those dreams are gone.  According to a Kotaku source, a Star Wars: Battlefront Online game is being produced for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 by Lucasarts and Slant Six Games.  Slant Six Games created SOCOM Confrontation and SOCOM Fire Team Bravo 3.  According to the source it will be online only and hit retailers in 2011.

New downloadable content for Borderlands will be available later this year for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.  The DLC is entitled ‘The Secret Armory of General Knoxx’ and be adding a ‘huge new environment’, as well as a level cap increase and new weapons.

Heavy Rain will have a new take on gaming, putting you in to a thrill ride of a story where your decisions will effect the outcome of the story. The trailer will give you a preview of the epic journey you will have upon playing the game. Heavy Rain will be out exclusively for the Playstation 3 on February 23rd in the US and February 26th in the UK. A demo will be available on February 7th.

You can now download a multiplayer demo for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the Xbox 360.  The demo offers the game mode ‘Rush’ and the alone map in the demo, ‘Port Valdez’.  The demo will end on February 25th.  Playstation 3 will have a demo available on February 7th (UK), February 11th (US). Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be out March 2nd for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

This is less like a trailer and more like a short film for Lost Planet 2. The game has a pretty big story and will be out for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on May 18th.

Upon booting up Mass Effect 2 while online, you will be required to install the games first patch.  The patch simply adds support for the added ‘Zaeed’ character DLC, which is free and accessible through the Cerberus network.  This is where future DLC will be available and of course will not be free.  Just an added note on downloading Mass Effect 2 content for the Xbox 360; once you have entered a code and accepted the download, you then must return to the dashboard so you can continue downloading any DLC.  Once downloaded you may then boot Mass Effect 2 back up and use your new DLC.

You read correctly, Microsoft is collaborating with Capcom to have Gear of War characters in Lost Planet 2.  Marcus and Dom will be playable characters in the game.  This is obviously for the Xbox 360 of the game, but no word on what the PS3 version might include.  The co-op friendly Lost Planet 2 will be available for the Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3 on May 18th.

The gimmicks and marketing continue with once again another set of pre-order bonuses you will get for Just Cause 2.  You will get the Chevalier Classic, all-terrain Agency Hovercraft, Chaos Parachute, Bull’s Eye Assault Rifle and Rico’s Signature Gun.  Just Cause 2 will be out for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on March 23rd.

The achievement list has also been revealed for the game and can be viewed right here or here.  Here is are a few of notable ones:

The new Medal of Honor game due out later this year will use two different engines which is just crazy.  The single player for the game will be using an altered Unreal 3 engine while the multiplayer will be using the DICE (Battlefield) Frosbite engine.  The modern combat Medal of Honor redux will be out for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC later this year.

The Dead to Rights: Retribution soundtrack was recorded at the infamous Abbey Road recording studios.  Dead to Rights: Retribution will be available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 sometime this year.

Here is a new video paying tribute and comparing the original 1999 version of Aliens vs Predator with the upcoming one that will be released February 16th. You will be able to choose the role of Marine, Alien or Predator and you can expect to see a demo hopefully sometime soon. Aliens vs Predator will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Another update for Left 4 Dead 2 is on its way as well as new DLC called ‘The Passing’, which has been hinted to have something to do with the Left 4 Dead 1 survivors. It’s due out in the “coming weeks”. The update will remove auto-spawns in versus as well as add AI bots to the Infected team if there are no players to fill those spots.

Bad Company is back with another story and here is the trailer for it. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 comes out for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on March 2nd.
